This might be the best analogy I’ve ever thought of in my life.
Saying adults should not be having discussions about sex with teens, writing books that involve teen sex, etc because age difference is like saying that only a person’s partner should be giving them a colonoscopy/ pap smear/ etc because it’s inappropriate for someone not in a relationship with you to see such intimate parts of you. Especially in the case where you’re saying kids should be learning from other kids. ( A point blank, terrible idea)
It devalues the importance of actual knowledge (you know. The thing kids are seeking) just as much as saying they shouldn’t be learning about sex period.
And again, it is just narrow mindedness, ignorance, and puritanical repulsion that says you can’t have a safe conversation about sex with teens or you can’t depicts teen sex in a safe way.
