Complaining about the HEA in Romance Bullshit Again

I actually don’t think I’ve mentioned it before but I’m going to now.
One of the key things that strikes me as making the “HEA is required for a book to be a romance” a deeply unrespectable position, is how their arguments are word for word pulled from how cishet white men used to describe the genre of romance.
“Romance books that don’t have an HEA aren’t real romance books. If you like romances they don’t have an HEA, you’re not a real romance reader.”
Like, when I say that the book community is full of people who don’t actually want freedom or equality, they just want the privileges that they had been denied, I mean you can draw a straight line from point A to point fucking B.
