Selective Silence

I’m tired.

I’m tired of forcing myself to communicate in ways and paces that are unnatural to me. I’m tired of putting aside the things that feed me to pretend to be the type of person that belongs.

I’m tired of trying to find a place in a community that will list a thousand reasons they don’t want me then clutch pearls when I say I feel unwelcome.

I’m tired of trying to find friends in seas of fish I just don’t fit in with.

I’m tired of the shadows that come with being alone in a group.

I’m tired of gambling with my life in a game that is still built against me.

I’m craving isolation and I’m tired of fighting it. I’m craving myself and I’m tired of denying it.

I’m craving my peace and I plan on providing it.
